Personal
Dakota County has been my home for most of my life, first in Apple Valley, and presently rural Greenvale Township between Lakeville and Northfield. I watched Orrin Thompson's company build the Apple Valley, Greenleaf and Scott Highlands subdivisions and change the old Lebanon Township from a small farming community to a well-planned, well-managed city of over 50,000, known since 1969 as Apple Valley. I was interested and active in city government, a candidate for Apple Valley City Council twice. I was also involved with youth sports in both Apple Valley and Rosemount, and coached soccer for ten years. Current hobbies include training and competing in dog agility trials with our Golden Retrievers, fishing, hunting, gardening, and working in various civic and political venues.
