Personal
I'm a rural Dakota County resident since 1999, having lived in Apple Valley for the previous twenty-seven years. I watched Orrin Thompson's company build the Apple Valley, Greenleaf and Scott Highlands subdivisions and change the old Lebanon Township from a small farming community to a well-planned, well-managed city of over 50,000, known since 1969 as Apple Valley. I was interested and active in city government, a candidate for Apple Valley City Council twice. I was also involved with youth sports in both Apple Valley and Rosemount, and coached soccer for ten years. Current hobbies include training and competing in dog agility trials with our Golden Retrievers, fishing, hunting, gardening, and working in various civic and political venues.
Although the majority of my clients buy and sell real estate in the metro area, I can help you with some of the things that seem a little scary to first-time country home buyers. Things like well and septic systems, gravel roads, wetlands, the livestock farmer down the road, how to cope with limited broadband availability, and maybe even no available pizza delivery, should all be considered when you want to move out to the country.
